Little lion

Here you live deep inside my heart

And I know now

Only forces of darkness

Tried to keep you quiet

As they clipped your growing claws

And hated you for

Your refusal to just stay quiet

And be ignored

For it is the inner light

Of your eyes

That shows me the way to go

It is the inner fire of your heart

That guides me home

And so it is I take refuge in the flames

As I choose to stay closer to

My wilder self

For little lion

You were born

For a different world

To express

To be loved

To be nurtured

And adored
