How To Maintain Balance In Your Life While At University
University is one of those things where if you let it, it can really consume all your time. It’s easy to fall into a pattern of only focusing on work and putting all the other important things in your life on the back burner. However, this is not exactly healthy because you need to have balance in your life because if you don’t have balance it’s easy to get exhausted, suffer from mental health problems and even physical problems. Here are some ways that can help you bring balance to your life while at university:

Deeply honored to share this beautiful poem written by our dear fellow blogger Kevin from What Words May Come. This is lovingly dedicated to his sweet daughter Tara.
DOORS FOR TARA
Ever does the new moon rise
Yet black in the clearest autumn skies
Undaunted by earth’s rotation abound
Creeping ever so slowly above the soft ground
As early the glory of morning sleeps tight
The day brings it refuge to open with light
But only to fall back to sleep once again
Brings closure to dream of a new morning’s grin
The heart on its journey can be quite the same
To open and close with emotional aim
While we wonder throughout our life in a daze
It’s a challenge we face walking through life’s maze
And doors have their hinges that swing to a stance
They’re open or closed as they move in the dance
We all are like doors if we look at our lives
We open and close like husbands and wives
While some of us never quite reach our crest
Like the moon we shine full when we are at our best
Relationships often take the same road
Making too much of one thing to carry a load
But when that load becomes too much to bare
We wane like the moon and start not to care
It happens as mortals for that’s what we do
We wax and we wane in relationships too
So, keep your heart light and look to the stars
For you never quite know what might create scars
Yet scars are a sign that you truly did live
And for that be thankful that your heart can still give

Thank you Yeka for asking me to share some of my life lessons. Each of these reflections comes from my journal, which is updated with thoughtful words from reading and commenting on others’ blog posts. These are in no particular order.
1. God has much in store for the coming days, weeks, months, and years. He feeds us with the bread of life.
2. Happiness can show up in unexpected places.
3. Love brings an avenue for a person to support another. This is the richness of true unconditional love.
4. I can never expect to walk perfectly with Jesus, but I can work to listen to Him and abide in His teachings.
5. Young love may be filled with excitement and passion, but love that matures and blossoms like a rose is wonderfully precious.
6. Sometimes, all we need for a successful journey in life is to take that very first step.
7. Life is worth savoring precious and special moments with the people whom we love and care about.
8. We should never give in to the power that tries to muzzle us. Yes, let us keep swinging for the fences and take our best shot.
9. Having true friends is precious! We need to stay connected with these special relationships.
10. We all have our own identity, which allows us to leave unique footprints in the sand.
11. Humility is a word of strength to Christians. We humbly walk with Christ just as He humbly walked with His Father.
